How to Leverage AMRs for Kitting in Your Warehouse
AMR sortation and kitting systems provide a high level of flexibility for pre-sorting, sortation and kitting applications with very little infrastructure required. The Hi-Tilt-Bot™ AMR queues in an induction queue. The operator places an item, box or package with the bar code facing up. The camera above the induction station reads the bar code automatically in a split second and the AMR moves via the shortest path to its destination location. As the first AMR is moving out of the induction station position, the next AMR in the queue moves into position. This process is repeated throughout the shift.
The gaylords or containers that the items are being sorted into on the floor are filled till capacity or done. Then a Go-Fer Bot™ AMR will automatically be dispatched to lift and retrieve the gaylord and bring it to pack out or shipping. Likewise, as the completed gaylord is being taken to pack out or shipping, another Go-Fer-Bot automatically delivers an empty gaylord to the location. This allows the picking and sortation to be seamless. This process continues until the shift or day is complete.
The system requires minimal permanent infrastructure and can be enlarged, decreased or moved with very little effort. This is perfect for applications requiring flexibility and agility in their operations.
