Stacker-Bot Autonomous Mobile Robot AMR AS/RS Provides High Density Tote Goods-to-Person
The new Stacker-Bot autonomous mobile robot AMR system provides a flexible and cost-effective solution to AS/RS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) applications. The systems ability to handle both corrugated cases and totes while utilizing existing rack and shelving can provide a faster return on investment and deployment.
The Stacker-Bot is ideal for order picking, replenishment, storage and returns handling for operations ranging from small to large.
The Stacker-Bot autonomous mobile robot AMR system can save up to two-thirds of your floor space and labor requirements with 99.9% accuracy. The load can range up to 90 lbs. and the system can reach up to 30 feet tall with triple deep tote storage on each shelf. Likewise, each unit can store up to seven totes or cases on each robot. This allows the additional throughput of interleaving of picks and put aways on each trip through the rack also reducing the number of AMRs required in many systems.
Organizations can find picking rates of up to three times and better than manual picking rates. Likewise, additional workstation transfer technologies can be integrated to buffer, sequence and enhance the systems throughput as required.
Intelligent software automatically gains knowledge every minute, hour, and day the system is used. The Stacker-Bot system automatically slots faster moving SKUs closest to the workstations to increase throughput and reduce labor requirements. Inventory optimization is accomplished automatically without operator or manager intervention.
Stacker-Bot Autonomous Mobile Robot AMR
The Stacker-Bot autonomous mobile robot AMR flexibility allows for corrugated cases and totes to be utilized in the same system. Totes can be single SKU or divided to handle multiple SKUs per tote. A wide range of inventory can utilize the Stacker-Bot system from loose pieces, polybags, cases, totes, and inner packs. The systems size, the rack and AMR robots can be increased or decreased quickly based on actual facility requirements.
The system consists of AMRs (or bots) which travel below a field of rack. A wave of orders is downloaded to the pick stations. One operator works each station. The bots lift and transport the rack to the corresponding workstation. The bots queue in front of each workstation waiting for it to be picked, eliminating operator dwell time. Once picked, the Stacker-Bot autonomous mobile robot AMR travel back to store the rack and automatically retrieves the next rack. This is repeated until all the orders are complete.
The workstation provides light directed batch picking operations either on rack, carts or conveyor depending on system throughput requirements.
Replenishment and returns can be interwoven between orders, at dedicated workstations, during low volume times, or all three. Placing returns directly back into active inventory helps eliminate the multiple steps and complexity often found in returns handling.
Additional order picking processes and AMR AS/RS systems can be incorporated to increase the systems throughput, capacity, and labor savings.
For example, implementing a Mega-Wave-Picking™ process means that you pick one SKU and fill every order in your wave of orders at one time. Your wave will have hundreds or thousands of open orders at one time. The Stacker-Bot delivers a stream of totes with a SKU to a workstation.
The operator is told the quantity of items required in this wave. They pick the SKU and place it in a TiltSort-Bot AMR robot waiting for it. The AMR bot delivers it to any one of the hundreds or thousands of open orders until the SKU requirement is complete. The process is repeated with completed orders being moved from the TiltSort-Bot system to shipping as they are completed for packing and shipping. This Mega Wave Picking process provides tremendous throughput and labor.
