Conveyco Technologies Awarded Contract to Automate Santa’s North Pole Workshop
In talks with Easter Bunny for similar project in basket-packing facility
BRISTOL, CT: Today, Conveyco Technologies is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a contract to automate Santa’s North Pole workshop by implementing new material handling technologies and systems. The solutions to be provided have been custom-chosen to address Santa’s unique needs, ultimately enabling his elves to create more toys that he will deliver to children all around the globe on December 24th.

The new system will work as outlined here:
- Presents flow in: As Santa’s elves finish building each gift, it’s placed on a conveyor belt that takes it into the North Pole Distribution Center.
- Less popular items are placed into storage: Every year, Santa’s elves wind up making too many of some toys that nobody wants! These toys are sent into storage, where they sit until they appear on children’s Christmas lists closer to the Big Day.
- Presents are sorted by destination: To make delivery easier, the toys need to be sorted by destination before they’re packed on the sleigh. We can’t have the toys for France mixed in with the toys for the Texas, after all!
- Presents are weighed, dimensioned, and packed: To make sure that Santa can fit all of the presents into his sack, each gift needs to be weighed, measured, and packed efficiently.
- Gifts are shipped off to the stable, where Santa’s sleigh and reindeer await: On the Big Night, as good girls and boys sleep, Santa will take to his sleigh to deliver the gifts to children around the world!
The upgrade was necessary to ensure that Santa’s operation could keep up with increased demand and more complicated, labor-intensive toy requests—like tablets and gaming consoles—which have exploded in popularity as opposed to the simpler toys that his facility was originally built to handle.
“In the last few years, we’ve seen a huge increase in demand,” said Elliot Snubbins, who was recently appointed to the newly-created post of Chief Technology Elf for Santa’s Workshop. “Today’s kids want more complicated toys; gone are the days of simple wooden trains!”
“My vision has always been to deliver our wonderful toys to all of the well-behaved children of the world,” said Santa Claus, with a twinkle in his eye. “These changes are going to have a big impact on our ability to make sure that every child gets the gift that they want each Christmas. That’s what I’m most excited about. The elves are happy that they’ll no longer be expected to work weekends, and Mrs. Claus is thrilled that I’ll be able to help out around the house a bit more.”

The company is also rumored to be working on a design for the Easter Bunny’s new basket-packing facility, scheduled to go live in time for the Spring 2019 season.
