Roll Formed Rack
Roll Formed Rack is the most common style of pallet storage equipment. It is an efficient and cost-effective solution to many storage requirements. This type of rack is typically the least expensive because it requires less steel than structural rack. Roll Formed Racking uses mounting clips that can easily be adjusted to different heights depending on load sizes. This is a beneficial choice for warehouses storing a wide variation of products. There is a variety of proprietary styles of Roll Form Rack depending on the manufacturer, but the most universal is teardrop rack, named for the teardrop-shaped connection design.
Structural Pallet Rack
Structural Rack is a more durable style of rack, often used in the food, beverage and healthcare industries, as well as in warehouses storing exceptionally heavy loads. Structural Rack components are bolted together. The bolted connection increases the weight bearing capacity of the system. Structural Rack is made of thicker c-channels, which increases the manufacturing cost. This rack option is more durable, making it commonplace in high traffic/quick turnover warehouse applications.
Tube Rack
Tube Rack is the safest seismic resisting storage system available in today’s market. It utilizes closed tube upright frames that provide resistance to earthquake and impact forces in all directions, including torsion or twisting. It is self-sustained and changes the lateral force resistance system from rigid to flexible. Lateral force demands with Tube Rack are 70-80% lower than conventional racking. This allows the system to give/float while maintaining the integrity of the equipment, thus providing more protection to the warehouse/distribution center environment in seismic events.
